About Givensee Group of Industries

The Givensee Group of Industries, established in 1982, stands as a foundational pioneer and one of the largest composite garment manufacturers in Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, guided by the core philosophy of delivering "quality garments at the shortest lead time" to mass-scale global retailers. The Group commands substantial operational scale, reporting an annual turnover exceeding US$100 million and employing approximately 27,000 personnel across eight manufacturing units. This infrastructure enables a high-volume daily output of over 70,000 pieces, encompassing a complex product range from light knitwear to technical, heavy denim apparel. A key competitive advantage is its comprehensive vertical integration, which provides control over the entire supply chain, from the initial "fibre-to-yarn process" through to specialized finishing. This extensive corporate structure encompasses textile and garment operations through subsidiaries such as Givensee Spinning Mills Ltd., Masuma Khatun Textile Industries Ltd. (specializing in yarn dyeing), Hotapara Garments Ltd. (composite knitwear, dyeing, fabric production), Zahintex Industries Ltd. (sweater manufacturing), Givensee Garments Ltd. (denim woven garments), and ancillary units like Givensee Garments Accessories Ltd. and the integrated Givensee Garments Washing Plant. This operational resilience is fortified by a substantial 15 MW captive power generation capacity distributed across its facilities, which the Group supports through its interests in Givensee Power Ltd. Givensee’s commercial success is validated by a high-profile client roster that includes globally recognized entities such as Wal-Mart, Gap, and the supply chain manager Li & Fung, underscoring its ability to meet stringent quality and ethical sourcing standards. Beyond textiles, the Group has strategically diversified into non-core ventures, including Givensee Real Estate Ltd. The most elaborated non-textile venture is Givensee Foods Ltd. (also known as Givensee Food), which produces a wide array of consumer packaged goods, including biscuits, various processed foods, and grinded spices, which are sold both locally and exported internationally to markets in the Middle East, Europe, and the USA. Cultivating an exceptional social license to operate, the organization, under the leadership of Chairman Khatib Abdul Zahid Mukul, embeds a profound commitment to social responsibility through the Old Rehabilitation Centre established in 1987. The Old Rehabilitation Centre is financially unique in that it is entirely self-funded by the Givensee Group’s corporate income, accepting no external assistance. This institution provides comprehensive, free, lifelong care, shelter, and advanced medical facilities including an in-house pathological laboratory and X-ray machine for up to 1,200 helpless elderly people. This singular ethical mandate and operational stability distinguish Givensee as a reliable and socially conscious enterprise in the global manufacturing landscape.
